‘Succession’ Season 3 Casts Alexander Skarsgård

“Succession” Season 3 at HBO has added Alexander Skarsgård to its cast.

Skarsgård will play Lukas Matsson in the third season of the critically-acclaimed series, who is described as a successful, confrontational tech founder and CEO. He joins a cast that currently includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Peter Friedman, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, and more.

Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall (Strong) at the end of Season 2, Logan Roy (Cox) begins Season 3 in a perilous position. Scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.

Skarsgård is no stranger to HBO audiences, having won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role in Season 1 of “Big Little Lies.” He also previously starred in the HBO series “True Blood” and “Generation Kill.” His recent TV roles include “The Little Drummer Girl” and “The Stand.” On the film side, he was most recently seen in “Godzilla vs. Kong,” with other credits like “The Aftermath,” “Long Shot,” and “The Legend of Tarzan.”

He is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson.

Production on “Succession” Season 3 was originally supposed to begin early last year but it was delayed due to the pandemic. It is currently in production in New York.

Jesse Armstrong created the series and serves as showrunner. He executive produces along with Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Jon Brown, and Scott Ferguson.
